Overview

The 37th annual SRC Users' Meeting, entitled "Current and Future Opportunities in Synchrotron Radiation," will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 15th and 16th. The program on Friday will be a Special Session entitled "Opportunities in Synchrotron Radiation," which graduate students can attend at no cost.   The Saturday General Session of the Users' Meeting will have a special emphasis on future directions for the SRC. Please attend and participate in these important discussions.  The deadline for early registration is October 1st.

The program for the Special Session on Friday includes invited review talks and a banquet at the Essen Haus. The talks will take place at the Inn on the Park, Best Western Hotel across from the Capitol downtown.  Please note that graduate students can attend this part of the meeting at no cost, but everyone needs to pre-register if they would like to participate in the meals.  On Saturday, the General Session will include summary presentations from the Workshop on "Frontiers in Soft X-Ray, VUV and Infrared" held in Madison in September.  Users will be encouraged to provide feedback on those summaries via an open discussion session and questionnaire during the Users' Meeting or on-line.  In addition, the Users' business meeting, poster presentations, the Aladdin Lamp Award talk (applications due by September 25th), and an award for best poster will take place on Saturday.  These events will be held in the large conference room of the PSL located next to the SRC.  Breaks, consisting of snacks and beverages, will be held in the adjoining PSL library.

All Users are strongly encouraged to present a poster of their current research. Please send your posters for printing to Chris Moore <cmoore@src.wisc.edu> before October 8.  We want to emphasize that we will have a "Best Poster"-contest during the poster session on Saturday afternoon. The winner will receive an award Saturday afternoon during the late session.

Registration for the Users Meeting is available online or can be sent by fax or mail.  Payment by check can be made when you arrive.  Please note we now accept credit card payment on-site at SRC but not at the Inn on the Park.

We look forward to seeing you in October!
