Coherence, Correlations, and Complexity

Memory effects and anomalous mesoscale dynamics are hallmarks of complex material behaviors. I will present the results of recent experiments using coherent soft x-ray beams at the ALS to probe microscopic memory and spatiotemporal fluctuations in magnetic systems. I will discuss how fourth generation sources might be optimized for such studies.
